Class Information
TheatreMax offers drama classes for all ages. Students will have fun and gain confidence, concentration and teamwork skills.
Each class will work towards performances/workshops of productions.
All classes will cater to the needs and experience of the participants.
PERFORMING ARTS PACKAGE
- TUESDAYS 4 - 5:30 (ages up to 8) 5-6:30 (ages 9 & up)
Learn to Sing, Dance & Act. Students will develop a grounding in all three disciplines and gain a taste of performing in musical theatre.
Drama component run by Shannon Faith BCA Hons, Theatre-in-Education. Singing taught by Jodi Phillis, 5 time Aria Award nominated National Treasure (Rolling Stone Magazine), ex of pop group 'The Clouds' with Dancing teacher, Kate Walker of Thirroul Dance Academy.
TODDLERS (3-5YRS)
- SATURDAYS 9:15-10AM
Bring your child along and enjoy some creative play! Lots of dressing up and fun drama games to stimulate the imagination, voice and body.
LITTLIES/BEGINNERS (6-8YRS)
- SATURDAYS 10-11AM
With the emphasis on fun theses classes are designed to build confidence and stimulate the imagination. Using drama games and creative play the group will learn basic stage skills and apply them in the creation of characters and scenes.

KIDS/INTERMEDIATE (9-12YRS)
- SATURDAYS 11-12:30 & 2:30 - 4PM
- THURSDAYS 4PM - 5:30
Great for those kids who want to further develop their acting skills as well as those who just want to have fun. Classes incorporate movement and voice production, improvisation, play-building, character development and script work.
YOUTH/ADVANCED (13-18YRS)
- SATURDAYS 1-2:30PM
In this class the group will further advance their stage skills including movement and voice production. Character creation will concentrate on sustaining the truth of the character and script work will involve text analysis and discovering different styles of theatre.
*ADULTS (18YRS +)
- MONDAYS 7-8:30PM
A short time each week where it is alright to be silly, to play the drama queen (or king), to scream and shout and shake it all about. Along the way participants will learn stage skills including voice, movement, character creation, improvisation and script analysis.
Adult class taught by Tim Allen. Tim trained at the Drama Centre in London and came to Australia in 1985. He has appeared in "Neighbours," "Home and Away," "Police Rescue" and "Water Rats," the feature film "Daydream Believer" and in a season at Northside Theatre, Killara. Most recently he was in the professional Australian Premiere season of "Camarilla" by Van Badham at IPAC.
Tim has taught Drama at Northside Children's Theatre, The Drama Studio, Sydney and has helped many through his Audition Classes.

FEE SCHEDULE
(Fees payable by week 3)
- PERFORMING ARTS PACKAGE $160 per 10 Week Term or $18/casual class
- TODDLERS $80 per 10 Week Term or $10/casual class
- LITTLIES $110 per 10 Week Term or $13/casual class
- KIDS/YOUTH $130 per 10 Week Term or $15/casual class
- ADULTS $160 per 10 Week Term or $18/casual class
PERFORMANCE FEE - For those classes involved in major productions there will be a $25 performance fee to cover equipment hire etc. in the term that the production is to be held.
Example - The classes that work on two performances a year will be required to pay the performance fee in Term 2 & 4 when those performances are held. If your class has only one major production then only one performance fee will be charged. If your class is only working on smaller in class showings where no equipment hire is neccessary there is no performance fee.
